About the Doctors

Dr. David Rice

Dr. Rice is a native of Tanner, Alabama and has lived in the Laurel/Waynesboro area since 1980.  He is married  to the former Cindy Odom and they have three children.  Dr. Rice graduated from Mississippi State University before pursuing his DMD degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.  Dr. Rice is a restorative dentist with a particular interest in cosmetic reconstruction.  He has attended extensive continuing education in a wide variety of dental disciplines.

Dr. Rice is a member of the ADA, MDA, OKU Honorary Dental Society, and Academy of Reconstructive and Cosmetic Dentistry.  He is an active member of Laurel's First Baptist Church and enjoys spending time with his family.


Dr. Kent Leggett

After completing his education at Mississippi State University and the University Of Mississippi School Of Dentistry, Dr. Kent Leggett returned to Laurel in 1980 as the third generation dentist, following his father and grandfather. A practitioner of general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry, Dr. Leggett is diligent in his pursuit of continuing education and the latest technology and equipment available for his patients.

Dr. Leggett is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, Laurel Area Dental Society, the American Academy of Implant Dentists, the American Society of Osseointegration, and is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is an active member of First Baptist Church and involved in many community organizations.

Dr. Leggett enjoys outdoor sports and spending time on the family farm with his wife, Tamara, and their children and grandchildren.

Dr. John Barrow

Dr. John H. Barrow is a 1981 graduate of The University Of Tennessee, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1985.

Dr. Barrow is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association and the Laurel Area Dental Association.

Dr. Barrow and his wife, Ann, have four children and two grandchildren.



Dr. Shelley S. Taylor

Dr. Shelley S. Taylor is a 2002 graduate of the University of Mississippi where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. She then received her DMD from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry where she was a cum laude graduate in 2007 and then completed Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Medical Center in 2008.

Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, the American Academy of Women Dentists, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine.

Dr. Taylor and her husband, Truitt, have two beautiful children, William and Mary Segrest.
